eCosCentric adds STM32 F7 support to eCosPro

STM32F7

NUREMBERG, GERMANY -- February 26, 2015 -- eCosCentric Limited, the eCos® experts, today announced the introduction of the eCosPro® real-time operating system for STMicroelectronics's STM32™ F7 series of ARM® Cortex®-M7 based 32-bit microcontrollers. This builds on the highly successful series of eCosPro Developer's Kits for the STM32 F2 and F4 families of Cortex-M3 and Cortex-M4 based MCU. The port adds architectural support for the Cortex-M7 core, takes advantage of ST's distinctive cache and acceleration technologies as well as rounding out support for the enhanced peripheral blocks.

"Qualifying a comprehensive package of optimised drivers alongside the eCosPro kernel, file systems, libraries and development toolset on the STM F7 evaluation platform prepares us for the rapid adoption of the STM32 F7 that we anticipate in the second quarter of 2015." said Daniel Morris, Sales and Marketing Director at eCosCentric.

Platform and drivers have been developed by eCosCentric working with advanced engineering samples of the STM32F756G MCU on the evaluation board. Drivers verified with the eCosPro Developer's Kit for STM32 F7 include RS232/UART, watchdog, wallclock, I2C, SPI, NOR flash, and SD media (including high capacity industrial SDHC cards). Developers can write and debug real-time applications using the included Eclipse based IDE connected to the STM32 F7 target via the on-board ST-LINK, JTAG and serial interfaces.
